Things I Like

Do you just collect ideas without doing them?  I kind of feel like that is my life right now...I am all sew/craft talk and no sew/craft action.  Well, here are more ideas that I would like to try.  Hopefully soon I will be back on track.  Thanks for all of your patience.

1.  Flower Pillows.  These are so cute.

2.  Felt Cameos.  Recently I have developed an interest in cameos.  I don't own any, but I think they would be a fun addition to any outfit.  When I saw these cameos, I was blown away.  The detail, the colors, the time to make them.  I think they are amazing.  Courtesy of Yalipaz on Etsy Via Cafe Cartolina.

3.  Heart Cutout Map.  I love maps and I could probably stare at them all day long.  I am thankful that my day job requires that I know a thing or two about mapping.

This would be an easy little project.  Instead of colored maps (which would be fun), I would make cut outs out of a Quad Sheet because for me that would be purposeful meaningful art.

Portion of a quad sheet - sorry it is blurry, but I think you get the point

4.  Continuing with the map craze.  Love these pillows.

5.  Button and Bead Necklaces.  I like the simplicity of the necklaces.

8.  Quilting with Hexagons.  Last weekend Hubby and I went to the coast to visit his parents, and his sister and her family who were visiting from out of state.  My mother-in-law pulled out a box to show my sister-in-law and me.  The box contained vintage fabric (I know that word is used ALOT, but this fabric was the real deal) and various sewn objects from the 30's and 40's.  In the box was the most amazing pillow cover.  It was a collection of 1" hexagons all sewn my hand.  I wish I had a photo on hand to show you the amazing craftsmanship.  But, here is an idea.

Well...that is all.  I am itching to get some things done...like unfinished projects.

Have a great weekend!  ~Leslie

I keep thinking about that fabric. I need to look around to see if I can find something close.
